New York International Auto Show 2023: 15 Hottest Vehicles From The Show Floor

04/07/2023

The 2023 New York International Auto Show has kicked off and will run until April 16th, 2023. Like all major car shows, the New York event – North America’s oldest – has had to adapt in the face of reduced manufacturer participation, but there’s still plenty to see in nearly a million square feet of exhibit space.

Electric vehicles have a larger presence than ever at the 2023 show, headlined by the world debut of the 2025 Ram 1500 REV. After the success of last year’s EV test track, this year there are no fewer than four separate tracks, indoors and out, where visitors can sample electric or hybrid vehicles. Meanwhile Camp Jeep makes a welcome return to provide a taste of life on the trails, right in the heart of Manhattan.

Jeep also chose New York to present the facelifted 2024 Wrangler for the first time. And while global reveals are few in number, there are plenty of cars appearing at an auto show for the first time after debuts online or at other events, like the Corvette e-Ray hybrid and Challenger SRT Demon 170.

Enjoy this roundup of these and other highlights from the show!

NYIAS 2023 - 2025 Ram 1500 REV

The 2025 Ram 1500 REV arrives in late 2024 as Ram’s rival to Ford's F-150 Lightning and the Chevrolet Silverado EV. It’ll initially be offered with ranges of 350 or 500 miles and should dispatch the 0-60 MPH sprint in 4.4 seconds. Towing capacity is projected at 14,000 lbs., payload at 2,700 lbs.

NYIAS 2023 - 2024 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon

A popular aftermarket upgrade will now be standard on the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. A Dana 44 HD Full Float solid rear axle makes it easier to run larger tires and raises towing capacity to 5,000 lbs.

NYIAS 2023 - Chevrolet Corvette C8 E-Ray

First shown in January on the 70th anniversary of the Corvette’s debut, the 2024 E-Ray is the first hybridized, all-wheel-drive Corvette. It’ll also be the quickest production Vette in history, with a projected 0-60mph time of 2.5 seconds.

NYIAS 2023 - 2024 Ford Super Duty

On sale now, the 2024 Ford F-Series Super Duty comes as standard with a new 6.8L V8 gas engine. The 6.7 Power Stroke diesel goes longer between oil changes and is also available in a new, high-output version.

NYIAS 2023 - Dodge Charger SRT Daytona Concept

Dodge first showed the Charger Daytona SRT Concept late last summer. It still looks terrific. With hints of the 1968 Charger mixed with the outgoing Hellcats, it provides a look ahead to Dodge's plans for an EV-powered future.

NYIAS 2023 - 2024 Jeep Wrangler JL Willys

Another Wrangler to get upgrades as part of the 2024 facelift is the Willys, which now includes a standard rear locker, steel rock rails, trailer towing and heavy-duty electrical group, and 33-inch tires.

NYIAS 2023 - 2023 Ford Raptor R

Ford’s most powerful F-150 Raptor ever is on sale now. The 2023 Raptor R boasts a supercharged, 5.2L V8 with 700-horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque, as well as 37-inch tires and Fox Live Valve shocks.

NYIAS 2023 - 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD

An Allison 10-speed automatic transmission is standard on the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD for all 6.6L gas and Duramax turbodiesel engines. The black-trim-heavy Midnight Edition pictured here is new to the High Country grade.

NYIAS 2023 - 2024 Dodge Hornet GLH Concept

The 2024 Dodge Hornet GT GLH Concept showcases potential Direct Connection exhaust, suspension and wheel upgrades for the brand’s new small SUV. The "Goes Like Hell" moniker is a throwback to the 1980s Omni GLH.

NYIAS 2023 - 2023 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Desert Boss

The Chevrolet Colorado was renewed for the 2023 model year, for which this ZR2 Desert Boss package was also introduced. Chevy says it’s engineered for desert running, with 17in beadlock-capable wheels and a roof-mounted light bar.

NYIAS 2023 - 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse

All-new for 2024, the latest Mustang reaches dealerships this summer. The range-topping Dark Horse model, pictured, has a 500-horsepower Coyote V8 and a standard electronic drift brake.

NYIAS 2023 - 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170

While one iconic V8 American sports car begins its seventh generation, another is entering its final run. The "Last Call" SRT Demon 170 ensures that the Dodge Challenger goes out with a bang, thanks to a 1,025-horsepower Hemi that delivers 0-60mph in a scarcely believable 1.66 seconds.

NYIAS 2023 - 1970 Ecurie Chrysler Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda

On the lower level of New York’s Jacob Javits Convention Center is a display of older street and race cars. This concours-winning Hemi 'Cuda caught our eye. Delivered to France’s official Ecurie Chrysler race team in 1970 and set up with the assistance of Matra, it became a championship-winning touring car and hillclimb racer.

NYIAS 2023 - 2023 Ford Lightning Red Bull F1 Sponsored

This specially wrapped F-150 Lightning marks Ford’s return to Formula 1. From 2026, it’ll work with Red Bull Powertrains to develop the battery cells, electric motors and control software for the next generation of F1 power units.

NYIAS 2023 - 2024 Nissan GT-R (R35)

And finally, fifteen years into its life, the R35 generation Nissan GT-R is still being improved. The 2024 model will be available this summer and features changes to the front and rear spoilers, fascia and bumpers to increase downforce and reduce drag.
